Pre-July 4th Celebration at the Jeff Market

The week of the 4th of July is always busy and brings back the best memories of family fun. I remember the 3rd of July bonfires, incense punks and fireworks on Humarock Beach in Scituate, MA. Days were filled with cookouts and clambakes made up of succulent steamers, fresh lobster, local sweet corn, organic red potatoes and delicious chowder.
In that spirit, our local food vendor, Rupert's Fine Foods will be serving up lobster rolls! It is only natural for us to want to share with you the best of summer and our local offerings which means to us the best food, organic veggies and meats, herbal remedies, and after all that eating a great massage!
Please join us July 2nd at 4:30. We will have our local musician Sam Averbuck to kick off the fun. Stop by the welcome table and tell us your favorite week of the 4th memory for a free gift! Or, you can share it here with all of us.
Thanks and see you next Wednesday, July 2nd.

Lobster Rolls and Chowda on July 2!

Rupert's Fine Food, we will be serving Lobster Rolls and Seafood Chowda in "addition" to our regular menu.  The Lobster rolls and chowda will be "limited" due to cost, so please plan accordingly! See you July 2nd for this special addition.

Strawberry Season

Strawberries are plentiful at our local organic farms and farmers' markets. Stop by and stock up! The opportunities to use strawberries are endless: eat freshly picked, make jam, shortcakes, sundaes, smoothies, salads and in your water.

Strawberries evoke for me memories with my children picking at local organic farms. They always seem to make an event for it with Live music, hay rides and plenty of delicious strawberries on hand!

I picked one day with my eldest son when he was just 3 months old strapped to the front of me, so I could let him taste as I picked. I rermember his sweet littles toes were as red stained as his sweet little mouth. Keith loves strawberries and any fruit for that matter to this day and when it is in the house it doesn't last long! We have made jam together, and served up warm biscuits smothered in raw milk ice cream with those sweet, delicious strawberries mashed up and poured atop to spill over the sides!

What memories can you share of picking and eating strawberries?
